Other characters: Gwen Stacey
Character Information
Name: Evie Grimhilde
Canon: Descendants 3
Canon Point: At the end of the third
OU/AU/CRAU/OC: OU
Age: 18
World Information: Evie's world is full of magic, princes, princesses and pretty much every Disney character exists there. The good guys live on the main land where magic is banned due to how much harm it's caused (meaning in this case people are being stupid and banning something that can be fairly innocent in the right hands), and the bad guys are stuffed on a garbage island where a magic barrier keeps them from escaping.
Evie's from this part of the world..
Personal History:
Evie Grimhilde is the daughter of The Evil Queen. Yes, That evil queen. The one that got super jealous of a girl because of her beauty, tried to have her murdered by a hunter and then tried to poison her with an apple. She grew up being taught that she absolutely needed a prince to be happy and the best way to get one was to pretend she was dumb, to learn how to cook and clean and sew perfectly, and to always be beautiful.
Fortunately for Evie, she always had a kindness to her, buying Carlos his first pillow and always treating her friends with care and respect.
When she and three of her friends were chosen to become students at Auradon Prep, Evie at first had a hard time fitting in. A very clever girl in her own way, she pretended she was a vapid, clueless airhead, trying to win the affection of the self-centered and dishonest Chad Charming. When that left her with a broken heart, she was at first dumbfounded. Everything her mother taught her was wrong. Eventually, however, she learned to shed her mothers teachings. She becomes the resident fashionista, making custom clothing for friends, helping them through rough patches in their lives and showing a high aptitude for chemistry.
A skilled sword-fighter, she's able to help Mal rescue Ben from the clutches of Uma and her gang and she and the rest of her class danced the night away during cotillion.
Some time after graduation, the Core Four are able to return to the Isle to choose four more Villain Kids for a better life in Auradon. During their visit to pick the kids up, Hades tries to escape. Mal's powers are drained some and, unknown to Evie at the time, Mal decides to close the barrier on the isle for good.
When Audrey gets ahold of Maleficents staff and vows revenge, the Core Four team up with other villain kids from the isle to stop her. People are put under a sleeping spell, Audrey throws everything she has at the group even going so far as to possess suits of armor to attack the group, but they're triumphant.
Heading to Evie's starter castle to plan what's best to handle Audrey, it's then that Evie and her friends learn that Mal has no intention to keep the barrier down and instead plans to leave it up forever, thus dooming everyone inside to a life in a terrible place.
Evie is hurt by this, even going so far as to yell at Mal, something Evie isn't prone to doing. Before the group can go their separate ways out of anger, Evie, Carlos, Jay and Ben are turned to stone from Audrey's spell, leaving Mal to face Audrey alongside Uma and Hook
As always, the team is triumphant. Evie forgives Mal for her dishonesty, saying she can understand why Mal lied and that she understands why Mal would want to close the barrier. The barrier is dropped for good. The residents of the Isle and the residents of Auradon are set to work together to create a better world and the Core Four return home to visit their parents. This is the point at which Evie joins (rejoins?) the train.
Personality:
She's a very smart, very flirty, very kind girl. Unlike her peers, she's been known to make some of the worst people smile. She's charming when she wants to be, authoritative when she needs to be and loyal at all dimes. She's very prone to wanting to see the best in people and wanting to help them find the best in themselves, and has a compassionate heart that makes her want to reach out to anyone and everyone in an attempt to befriend them. That being said, she knows when to step down.
Previously very prone to wanting everyone to like her and hinging all of her self-worth on what others thought of her, Evie's found her own confidence and her own worth in her creativity and her intelligence. She still enjoys being pretty, but it's become more for herself and less for impressing the people around her.
update!:
During the events of D3, it's clear that she's become a very mature young woman, capable of taking care of herself and still ready to take care of her loved ones. She is the eternal mom friend. Not only that, but even after Mal's lie was discovered, Evie eventually forgave her fully. She can't hold grudges against people, not with her heart as big as it is. She still forever tries to see the best in people, just as she'd want them to see it in her, and she desperately wants the VKs and Everyone Ever to get along. This almost comes off as naive, but she's far from it. She understands the ways of both worlds and knows how to approach each person as best as possible.
She's also grown in patience, finding it easier to try to get people to get along and thinks celebrating differences is key.
Key themes: Self-esteem and self-worth and being true to ones-self. She was brought up to believe she was only as good as what people thought of her, and to make sure people thought highly of her, she had to pretend to be something she wasn't. Over the course of the first film, she finds this is not true and starts standing on her own two feet in terms of how she saw herself and in that she found the ability to see herself as someone great. Someone with a lot of potential and the capacity to be a very good person.
Main Motivation: On the train, Evie's main motivation will be to help people. She'll want to find ways to make medicine out of whatever they find on their trips. She'll want to protect the people on board as best as she can and she'll want to be sure people are taken care of however they need to be.
She dislikes seeing people upset or living in a way that they don't deserve, so she will desperately want to make sure the people on the train are living in some manner of comfort.
It's a cramped situation, she'll learn quickly, but so was the isle. She doesn't want the train to degrade into that, so she'll do her best to create better ways of doing things. More sustainable resources, better living situations.
Skills: Sewing. Cooking. Cleaning. Chemistry. Magic. Potion-making. Sword-fighting. Theft. You can't live on an island full of villains and not pick up a few shady skills, ok. But not at all baking.
Item: Mal's spellbook.
Sample: From another game but...
From the Void TDM.
And another TDM thread with D3 Evie.
Notes: She will still in fact want a hydroponics garden, also a room to sew in so she can keep clothes in good condition and perhaps create others.
