Evie Queen loved the school the minute she set foot into it. But, considering her mother had recently been incarcerated for various Black Widow style murders and the like, the school didn't seem to like Evie. Her mother, a fairly powerful mutant who went by the strange name of Evil Queen, had the ability to turn any consumable object into poison at a touch. She also liked to marry rich and within a year or so, the poor husband would be gone.

In an odd twist, it was Evie who turned her mother in. Despite her upbringing, home-schooled by her mother and surrounded by some fairly negative influence, Evie remained kind. Evie retained a sense of morality and Evie wouldn't stand to let someone else die.

So now, she was at a school, surrounded by people who assumed she was going to be just like her mother. It was uncomfortable, an ugly feeling that kept her up some nights, and kept her distracted during classes.

It was during chemistry one day when people were to learn just how smart Evie Queen was. She'd been caught not listening and was asked to the board up front so, standing with a small sigh and feeling all eyes on her, she decided to surprise everyone. She was asked how to find the average atomic weight of silver, which wasn't actually that hard. Despite her high-maintenance appearance and the rumors that went around that she was a brainless, vapid, superficial girl, Evie was far from uneducated.

Picking up the chalk and weighing it in her hand, she quickly writes an equation on the board, saying it out loud for all to hear.

"That would be 106.905 times .5200 plus 108.905 times .4800 which gives us, sir, 107.9 A.M.U." With that, she turns to look at the teacher, holding out the chalk. "Am I right?"

A small smile and a nod from the teacher, a 'very good, Evie' immediately getting a look of discomfort on the blue haired girls face. That wasn't what she was expecting. She heads to her seat just in time for the bell to ring and, quickly, her bag is in her hands and she's moving with the class out the door.

It's a free period for her, so she heads outside to sit on one of the benches to watch the other students.

She wasn't sure what it was, but that moment with the teacher shifted something. People were passing by and smiling a bit at her and honestly, it made her feel less lost. Maybe this place would actually be okay?
